Advisory Committee Purpose
Performing Arts Workshop seeks to enlist an advisory council that is committed to providing thought partnership and provide counsel in their areas of expertise with the objective of supporting the organization’s growth and development as it relates to achieving its mission and living into its values.
Essential Responsibilities

Advisory council members offer specific expertise in anti-racism development/fundraising, corporate fundraising, youth development, financial management, non profit law, employment law, arts education, marketing, human resources, Visual Arts, Media Arts, and/or Performing Arts Production, event rentals, etc.

Council members ensure that the organization's work is aligned with the needs and interests of the community.

Council members act as a sounding board for the organization, helping with strategic planning and decision-making.

Council members contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's strategic direction.

Council members help identify potential risks and challenges that the organization might face.

Council members help balance the needs and interests of different stakeholders, including students, partners, D11 community members, community artists, teaching artists, staff, and other community members.

Council members contribute to the overall health and governance of the organization.

Council members provide recommendations to the board of directors or executive team on projects, initiatives, or policy matters.

Council members may help the organization secure funding, resources, or other support from external sources.

Council members help ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and regulations.

Council members may study specific issues and provide recommendations based on their findings.
Time Commitment
Advisory council members are essential thought partners without predetermined time commitment requirements. Outreach to AC members will be conducted with consideration for their areas of expertise and fields of interest. Performing Arts Workshop executive leadership will email or request meetings (primarily phone or virtual, but if AC members prefer we can occasionally meet in person) as needed, and AC members can respond as possible within their capacity.
