Ashley Smiley, colloquially known as Smiley, is a creative born, bred and broken in San Francisco, CA. Her 20+ year career in the San Francisco performing arts community includes roles such as performer, director, production (stage) manager, sound designer, lighting designer and, most recently solidified with the world premiere of her original full length play - Dirty White Teslas Make Me Sad - Magic Theatre/Campo Santo). Currently Smiley serves as the Programs Coordinator for the African American Art and Culture Complex while simultaneously pursuing her PhD in the Historic and Cultural Studies in Religion with a concentration in Art and Religion from the Graduate Theological Union located in Berkeley, CA.
