Liz & Collaborators
Posted by Liz Tenuto
Liz & collaborators Esme, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Matt are presenting a dance show in June at CounterPULSE. It's going to be wicked.
Coming soon to a theater near me: Part One and Part Two of an operatic dance saga by Liz Tenuto. Part One, "The Darkest Hour Is Just Before Dawn" will be shown in it's UNCUT and UNCENSORED form (yea, like R Kelly). Part Two, "The Wicked Run" is a new piece and premiers at this very show.
This Show Is: June 7, 8 and 9 at CounterPULSE (1310 Mission at 9th St, San Francisco) Part of CounterPULSE's Summer Special Co-Production Program www.counterpulse.org
Who we are: Liz Tenuto and Collaborating Performers: Esmeralda Kundanis-Grow, Elizabeth McSurdy and Rebecca Siegel
Music composed and performed live by: Matt Ebrahimoon
Liz Tenuto is a San Francisco based dancer, choreographer and teacher. More at: www.liztenuto.wordpress.com
Budget: $1500 will fund the cost of producing the show (theater rental, rehearsal space, props, costume repair, music, fliers and photo+video documentation).
Piece descriptions: Part One--Simultaneously divine and demonic, "The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn" is a supernatural dance trio that embodies the dark side of devotion. It is a close reading on the boundless moments just before metamorphosis.
Part Two--"The Wicked Run" narrates a dance story of vast feuds over tiny details. In a brazen attempt to solve a mystery, the relationships between the trio get illogically amoral.
