Learning art makes a young person more innovative, creative and a better critical thinker—which are vitally important skills for the 21st century. Without the programs provided by Performing Arts Workshop, a whole generation of young people, especially low-income youth, will grow up without fundamental skills. They’ll be unprepared for work and life. That’s where we come in.

The day will come when we adequately fund our schools and afterschool programs and when theatre and dance are as central to our education as algebra. Until that day, people like you and me have to support arts programs with our own donations. Policies take time to change.
