“As part of the nationwide “Lights On Afterschool” day, San Francisco’s pioneering efforts to provide universal afterschool programs for elementary and middle school youth were recognized by local elected officials, parents, afterschool staff and youth at a press event on Thursday, October 21. In 2009-10, San Francisco’s Afterschool for All effort was able to provide afterschool programs to 94% of all youth who want to attend.”
